Webi Error (WIS 10012) when trying to create a variable help me
Hi ,
I am struck with an error in webi When i trying to create a tax variable i have given the formula as [Sales Revenue]* 0.175 and trying to save it i am getting the below error
" the Number .175 at position 15 has a format that is incompatible with your regional settings,(WIS 10012)"
when i try in different way [Sales Revenue]* (0,175) i am getting right answer. Please help me where i have to change my regional settings.

Prompt in WebIn DateTime format.
Hi.
I have a date field(d) coming from the universe. I have created a webi report based on the above universe and created a prompt based on the d field.
When I refresh the document in Webi, when entering a date for the prompt, the format is dd.MM.yyyy.
But after refresh the docucment value date of the prompt is dd.MM.yyyy hh:mm:ss and time 03:00:00.

CROSS TAB ISSUE- in WEBI- Business Objects

I have a issue with creating a cross tab report in Business Objects Infoview-----(WEBI) (3.1)
I want to show my report in (Cross Tab) as following
I want to show if all the Templates: --- in this case (template1, template 2....used in any CASE_ID, ) then display 'Yes' or 'No' corresponding to Template and columns on left [ cross tab--- --------------------------------------------------------------------

objects being used in this table: Case_ID, Request_ID,State,Nurse_name, Template.
Note: CASE_ID can have multiple template......or one template can belong to multiple CASES.
for example: CASE_ID '1234' have used Template-1,4,5) so we displaying Yes.
and CASE_ID='1452' have used template 3( displaying yes) and displaying no for all other retrieved templates)
Now what is the best way to show the above ideal table in cross tab. ( we using template columns for cross tab).
What will be variable or formula to address this issue, i tried couple of formulas , i did not work.
I would appreciate your input.

WEBI Joins - Client side or Server?
Hi,
I wonder about a question, after many performance issues - Where does the joins happen in the WEBI ?
I have a report, with 7 different queries. Many of the fields on each are merged into one, Plus I have tons of variables. (all because of different databases and systems), and my report is being refreshed in like 30 minutes.
After wondered about that - Can you please refer me to a document or explain to me how does the join engine works and where does it take place?
Does the report runs the 7 queries simultaneously or one after the other?
Would appreciate if someone can explain the whole subject of client\server calculations in WEBI according to the question.

DSN fails on BO Linux to SQL Sever
Hello,
I'm trying to setup a ODBC DSN for SQL Server 2012 on Red Hat Linux 6.4. But the connection keeps failing with the following error whenever I try to test the connection using
isql -v [DSN NAME]
I have done the following to configure the DSN
1. Installed ODBC Driver Manager 2.3.0
2. Installed ODBC Driver 11 for Sql server for RHEL 6
3. Updated odbc.ini file in the client installation directory (SAP Business Objects) with the data base server connection parameters.
4. Verified that the Host name, database name and login credentials are correct.
5. Port 1433 on database server is open and listening for tcp connections.
6. Verified that the firewall on linux server is configured to allow connections to the database server.
6. Verified that the database server can be pinged from linux.

WEBI : How to count objects on 2 differents date on same array ?
Hi,
I have 3 dimensions : Object / Creation date / Closure date
I want to know the number of objects created and closed in the same array agregated by year and by month
Example
Created Closed
2013 January 5 4
February 0 2
March 2 1
April 0 0
May 3 8
....
and to see all months even if the count for creation and closure is 0.
1) I have try to use year and month based on Creation date, count(creation date;all) is right but the count(closure date;all) for closure is wrong
2) I try to use timedim with year and month based on Creation date in order to display lines with 0 0 so it's OK but i have closue date bigger than creation date so i don't see them.

Webi formula: Create sum with where clause on measure
Hi,
I am trying to create a sum of all values in a table which are greater than a specific threshold. Maybe someone can help me here. I haven't figured whether and how this is possible.
Here is a simple example:

| A | 12 |
| B | 8 |
| C | 25 |
| D | 3 |
| E | 11 |
I would like to sum up all values that are greater than 10. So I would have 12 + 25 + 11 = 48.
The formula I tried in WebI was:
=Sum([Measure]) Where ([Measure] >= 10)
The formula is validated with no errors, but the result gives me the grand total ignoring the where clause.
In this example, that would be 12 + 8 + 25 + 3 + 11 = 59.
Any idea, how to achieve a formula like the above?

how to convert monthly data into quarterly data

I have a query
Data is coming from database
FOR 1ST QUARTER

for this month i have calculated the value and crated report but for next Quarter i have again go for hard coding and generate the report
so is how can i convert monthly data into quarterly basis for example

Webi Publication - Do not send report by email when zero records
Hello,
I have a report that I am scheduling. It is using dynamic recipients and personalization based on the recipients. Some of the recipients will have zero records for the report and I do not wish to send the report by email to them. I have searched and found a "workaround" of adding a conditioned error in the footer to get a division by zero error if there are no records. However, the report still runs and gets sent to the recipient with no data. Any way to accomplish what I want to do?
I am using SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 2 Version: 14.1.2.1121
My data sources are Excel, so I am not using a Universe for this particular application.

Scheduling Multiple Tabs
Hi Experts,
Currently I have two tabs in a WebI report. The requirement is to export two tabs as seperate PDFs. I know we can use publication for this. But, the user needs to generate pdfs on adhoc basis on their own.They do not want the report to be scheduled. FYI, I am using Business Objects 3.1 Appreciate any responses.

0ORGUNIt time dependent hierarchy not showing all valid nodes in BO , but in BW its correctly shown
Hi All,
We have 0ORGUNIT hierarchy shown in one of the Webi reports. 0ORGUNIT is time dependent hierarchy.
In BW report we can see below nodes for hierarchy
Hierarchy Valid From Valid To
Z05 Root Company 01.07.2013 31.12.9999 - Parent node
Z05 Branch 2 01.10.2013 31.12.9999 - Child Node
Z05 Division 09.12.2013 31.12.9999 - Child Node
In BO webi we can see only two nodes

Z05 Division 09.12.2013 31.12.9999 - Child Node
Any idea why in BO webi the other node is not shown ? This is happening only for time dependent hierarchy and only in BO not in BW.

i have a query
I have data like below

how we can calculate in SAP BO INFOVIEW 3.1 and it will run automatically in future also for 2012,2013 so on

Webi 4.0: Adding percentage to data value in bar chart
Hi,
I have an issue that maybe someone else has faced and could help me out. I searched for the same issue but could not find any solution to this.
I am unable to add '%' to the data values in chart. I even tried turning chart to table and then formatting number but when I reconvert it back to chart then complete formatting goes off.I even tried other options like assigning data and changing data value to percent and then customizing it but no luck. When I try doing so all the values gets change to '100%'.
I am working on BO 4.0 patch 11.
Kindly let me know if you guys have any idea of how this could be accomplished.

Conditional formatting for pie chart and bar graph in 4.0
Hi,
Is it possible to format a Bar/Pie chart conditionally in BO 4.0
I want to create a bar graph that displays bar in Green color if the value of bar is “XYZ” than target set and green if it is “ABC” than target set as red
Please let me know if this can be doable with latest version of BO 4.0 webi.

Bex variable select option
Hello Experts,
BW (bex) variable "select option" is converted into an interval in WebI.
Is there any enhancement planned on WebI to make it possible to have the select option functionalities in WebI.
For example, we have an authorization variable getting several intervals from BW authorization.
In WebI, selecting several intervals on a criteria is not possible.

Switching Universe from Oracle to SQL ends in errors
I have switched other universes from oracle to sql several times but usually the universes are small, one to 5 tables. I just migrated one with over 20 tables and I can't get it to work. I get incompatiblity errors and when I can get it to work somewhat, the detail lines show up as totals. I started from scratch on my WEBI. I included just one query and only added 2 fields from the query and they show up as incompatible. I think it has something to do with the way the SQL is coming out of the WEBI. IN the original Oracle version, I have one "Flow" in the design view but for some reason in SQL, it mutated into multiple flows. I think there are at least 8. The universe looks exactly like the original. Table structure is the same. THe only difference is it's a different source.

Actual looks fine but budget is still showing totals on the detail lines. Example. Actual MTD Budget MTD Market1 1030 5000 Market2 2010 5000 Market3 2300 5000 Total 5340 5000 Also, I have a filter for company. If I include it in the table it looks good. If I remove it it shows all companies even though I filter for just one. There is nothing in the data but all markets show up. Example, only Markets 1-4 should print according to my parameters. If I add Company this works.
