Publication File Names

Hi All,

 

Environment: 4.1, sp5, patch 6.  SQL Server database via .unx

 

Have created a new publication based off of a webi report.

This report 'bursts' into multiple .pdf's using profiles in the CMC and on a context object within the report.

 

Is there any way of having the files saved on to the BI Platform with the customisable file name?

I can do this when sending to e-mail or to the file location but not on to the platform.  Screenshots attached.

I need either the context value from the report or the username, as per screenshot 1.

 

For info, the 'bursting' is to make the reports more consumable rather than a data security issue.

 

Any ideas appreciated.

Alerters in SAP BO 4.1 SP6 (BI launchpad)

I am working on SAP BO 4.1 SP6 version and I wanted to use ALERTERS in my report but I didnt see any direct option for the same.

 

Please help where this ALERTER option located in newer version.

SAP BO server Recovery

Hi all,

 

Last week , we have shut-down  SAP BO server for maintenance . when we start it , it's mother board  became out of order. we have replace same mother board , but OS corrupted.

 

OS was on local server HDD and BO installation was on SAN. SO we have BO data ( windows backup ) which was on SAN. Please guide how we can restore our BO server.

 

OS: Windows 2008 server R2

C:\ :- OS ( Local server hardisks)

E:\ :- SAP BO ( SAN )

BO: BO 4.0 with DB oracle

Issue with authozation values in prompt

Hi everyone,

 

I have an issue,  i am now in bo 4.1 sp5 and until i do the upgrade i have the following problem. in BW everything is ok

 

I take some prompt authorization values by default. the problem is that the values are concatenated, so if i want just to remove one it removes all of them.

Average Calculation in WEBI

Hi All,

 

I am new to SAP WEBI & IDT. I need to fix a formula in which Average calculation is wrong when one of the value is empty.

Eg If I have data for 4 days but one of them is empty then Avg = (A+B+empty+D)/4

this is how it is working, but some how the calculated avg is incorrect.

I am trying to use the built in function Average but still not able to make it work. I tried using property  " ;IncludeEmpty" too.

Any lead on this will help..

Environment details - BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 2 Patch 10

count Formula

Hi Experts,

 

i have an scenario.

i filter Statusid=closed,queue=BI,BPC  And created close date as month and year variable.

so i want to create formula to count total "closed" for month of jan and 2015.

 

below i attached the sample data;where u can guess the idea of field name and data.

 

kindly guide me.

Display Access to Authentication tab in BI CMC

Hi Gurus,

 

We have a requirement to give access to the authentication tab to users in CMC

 

The following are the steps I have followed:

 

1.Created a new group that can be assigned to users.

2. Have given Explicit access to the Authentication tab by going to the group_> right click->CMC tab configuration for the newly created group as per the attached screen

 

But when I assigned this group to a test user and tried to view,but the authentication tab is not visible.

 

I have seen in few of the forums that a user needs to be part of the Admin group in the CMC for this authentication tab to be visible. But if I add this group to the Admin it will give lot of other access which is not desirable.

 

Please let me know if there is a way forward for this.

Match Pattern in variable

Hello Experts.

Can some one please suggest me a solution for my issue.

I have a report on survey which is pulling question from question table and answers and comments from answer table

As the Answers and comments are saved to the same table but under different answerID, they are displaying in the same column when the AnswerID is pulled in to the table.

But as per the requirement, I need to make sure that I get comments on the seperate column for corresponding answer.

I tried Match pattern on QuestionID but I experienced an issue where the Main question is disappearing from the table. Even though comments belong to the parent question, each comment is tied to ChildquestionID.

Plesae see the attached screenshot for further detail.

Ranking BEx Query Hierarchies -> Display in Chart with Drill Down

Hi,

 

Please see sample data below. The data would come from a BEx query and the Country would be a hierarchy.

What i want to be able to do is pick the top three counties i.e. A4, A2, A1 and then display the data in three separate charts. I should be able to do ranking and get the top three counties ok.

 

But then how do I

1. Identify the 1st, 2nd and 3rd County so i can separate them into three charts.

2. I want the X axis to be county so they can drill down to the sub levels e.g. for county A1. they will be able to double click A1 and then see A1.1 and A2.2

 

I am on SAP BI 4.1 SP2

Refresh error in WEBI

Your session timed out. Close the Java interface and log on again

Hello,

When I try to modify a WEBI, I have the following message : "Your session is timed out. Close the Java interface and log on again".

I use BO 4.1 SP3 Patch 5 and Java 8 Update 51   

Do you know how to solve the problem ?

timetaken mismatching from sql to webintelligence

I have created query in SQL Server 2008 and imported that query as a view  in web intelligence through designer. But the data of "time taken" into the query is mismatching. Attach is the screenshot form sql and webintelligence

Why can't Webintelligence export reports headers to excel?

I know this is by design. Exporting a webintelligence report to Excel won't include headers in the Excel file.

 

I want to know why? What´s wrong with having your header exported along with rest of the content?

 

If this is not a limitation of the tool why is it so by design?

 

Does SAP have any plan of changing the design of Webintelligence so it can include headers and footers when exporting files to Excel?

WebI/Universe Row Level Security Multiplying Records Returned

Hello, I am wondering if others have struggled with row level security causing the records returned in WebI reports to be multiplied by the number of people in your security table when the report is scheduled? We are rather new to WebI and Universes but worked with a consultant to get set up. We have a security table with physician IDs and then a security table that includes those of us that can see all physician IDs. What is happening is that when a report is being run or scheduled, it is returning one row or each items multiplied by the number of people that have access to that item.  So if a physician had 1 item and there were 86 people that had access it is returning 86 items instead of 1. The row level is working when the individual is logged in but not when it is scheduled or a report developer is trying to work with the report.  The schedule kills the free space on our servers and will not finish.  Any ideas to help us resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi ,

 

Need to  pass  the username and  password  in the URL parameter  in Webi Report.

Is it possible to achieve this??

I have searched the Forum all Tells about SSO. But Whether I can pass it in the URL directly.

If only option is SSO ,Then Kindly Send me the steps with  Screenshot. Because Certain Terms I Could not Understand completely.

Webi Schedule error:Object failed to run due to an error while processing on the Job Server.

Dear,

 

     I have faced a problem when I wanted to schedule the Webi by E-MAIL,I have already tested the  telenet the mail server and port  from BO server, it

works fine.

 

      The schedule running error information is :Object failed to run due to an error while processing on the Job Server.

 

     I haved checked the logging file in the BO server file, there is a file <jobserver_BODEV.AdaptiveJobServer_WebIJavaSchedulingService_CHILD0_ncs> and there is error information shown as belown:

Inconsistent date format in prompts of WEBI reports

Hi All,

 

To display the data for select time period, we have added date prompts. One has to enter the start & end date.

Its a filter having type Business.

The prompt is added only once and being used by multiple reports. We have not set the date format assuming it will take some default format like dd/MM/yyyy, etc.

The problem I have is this format is inconsistent among all the reports, somewhere its dd/MM/yyyy and for other reports its M/d/yyyy, and I cant find where to set the format for the date in the prompt..

Publication mHTML type more than one graphs side by side

Hi Experts,

I created a publication that is used mHTML and sending the report via mail. I have two graphs in the report. Two graphs embed in the e-mail body and even in the report graphs are side by side, In the e-mail, one graph is always under the another graph.

I would like to know if there is a chance to embed them side by side insz ?

Only Summary Data In Webi Report

Hi All,

 

we have Webi Report That shows the Detail Data In the  Report

 

I had Break the report By Country and summarized fields 

 

 

is there any way that we can show only Summarized Fields with out Detail Data

 

 

we have to Suppress the Detail Data

 

 

 

Please Advise How to Achieve this
