Unique Row Entries in Insterted Column [Table Question]

Hi,

 

In summary: After inserting a new column into an existing table, SAP WebI duplicates the cell entry of one cell value into all cells/rows within the new column. I need unique cells in each row of that column.

 

Details: I would like to manually create a link to external pdf documents in each row of my table, which provides context to the row's data.

 

I envisioned I would do this by adding a column, typing "link" into the rows where I have a document, and adding a unique hyperlink to those cells/rows. Since each row has as different document to be attached, I need each row to have unique contents.

 

The problem is that SAP copies/duplicates any cell value in the column to all other cells in the column. This means that I cannot create a unique link for each row.

 

How do I work around this?

Need custom labels in webi graph

Hi Experts,

 

I have to create Bar chart on Table1 using below data and Column chart using Table2.

In table1 I have restricted Status  = "Complete" so table1 will only show completed data and in Table2 I have Leader wise "No of Files" where status is not restricted, it is showing all status No. of Files.

I want whenever user click on Table1's bar chart on any Type Table2 should show only of that Type and Completed No.of Files by Leader.

To accomplish that in Table1 I have hidden Status and created Linking on All Objects from Table1 to Table2 but in that case I have to remove No.of File from Table1 bar chart since bar chart does not give good look when we add 3 measures as Bar.

 

So I want if I can show No. of Files in Category Axis along Type labels, somewhat

But when I converted Table1 into bar chart linking does not work because I am creating linking from Variable called "Type + (No.of Files)" where "No. of Files" is already a measurable variable. that is why linking from Table1 to Table2 fails. Table2 becomes blank when I click on any Type(No. of Files).

I hope you got my issue.

Can you help me in resolving it, I want to see Type, No. of Files, Status(hide), Actual Time, Projected Time in Bar chart from table1 with linkng to Table2 on Type and Status(only Complete) basis.

Long and narrow report, how to show in one page?

I am doing a report to display a long list of table with 3 columns. However 1 page of A4 page can actually fit for six columns of size. So I would like to present the data in two column session, so each session contains 3 columns. So the data shall be feed into the first session residing on the left side of the page, and then continue to the second session on the right hand side of the page.

 

I want to ask how to present the data flow in the way described above?

Hiding a cell

Hello All,

 

There is a table below a cell "A".  Do we have any option to Hide a cell if table below the cell has no data ?

When i right click on cell and choose "Hide when empty" doesnt work. I have provided screen shot for your reference.

Any work around for this? We are on 4.0 sp4 and oracle as the backend.

BO XI 3.1 SP7 - Unable to Modify the report with Java 1.7

Hello All,

 

We have patched our BO XI 3.1 with the latest Service Pack i.e. SP7. We are able to work in IE 11 but we are unable to modify the webi report with JRE 1.7.

 

Any Idea how we can resolve this issue....?

Max retrieval time makes the report returns no or partial results

Hi,

 

I have a problem like in the title. I set the max retrieval time and report after this time interrupt generating and returns partial or no results. I would like it to give me a warning that generating was interrupted. Is it possible?

I use version of application:

 

SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 5 Patch 7

Version: 14.1.5.1726

Suppressing the table

Hello All,

 

I have a table in the report where i need to show only header of the table incase of no data in the report whereas entire table should be shown incase of date in the table.

 

Right click - Format table -> "show rows for which sum of measures values =0" , when i uncheck this option, table gets suppressed and only header will be shown incase of NO DATA but if we run report with different prompts which has data but still header is shown but not the complete table with data.

 

How we can overcome this issue?

SAP BI 4.1 WEBI report problem with prompts after migration

Hi guys,

 

We are facing the problem with prompts in WEBI reports after migration from BO 3.1.
After refresh there is(are) extra prompt/s called "enter value for project".
That´s unexpected and "unwanted" thing. Do someone know what could be that, how to remove it??

Db2 ODBC showing columns with special character in single quotes in UDT

Hi,

Need Urgent help !

 

If we use the ODBC drivers for DB2 iseries as connection in Universe designer we have a situation where it shows single quotes against some columns that have special characters. How do we remove or convert them into a readable column without it throwing a INVALID TOKEN error (PFA screen shot of the error as well).

 

Environment Details: BO 4.1 SP 5

Tool: UDT

Database source: ODBC DB2 iseries 5 (connection 32 bit)

When we go with the default PRM settings the above issue persists. Do anyone have any ideas on specific paramters to set for this to resolve.

 

FYI, we already tried the below parameter and it doesnt resolve the wingle quotes.

  <Parameter Name="IDENTIFIER_DELIMITER">"</Parameter>

Possible to Collect Object Usage in Universe?

Hello,

 

Is there any way to see the usage of individual objects within a document? When I say the word objects, I am referring to the fields that you drag over to the results or filter windows. The objects become available for a report then after you complete the query. I want to look at these objects and find out how many documents are using which objects in a universe.

 

Reading previous threads, it seems it is not possible, but is it just impossible with the current audit universe or is it not possible to record object level detail from the servers? Is there any way to collect this information? Are there settings that you can update to record which objects are being used? Are there any alternative universes that allow you to query this information? Are there any alternative applications that I could use? Does it make sense to approach my database administrator and see if he has a way to observe how many times a particular column has been queried?

 

Any advice on how to collect this information would be really helpful.

Getting Error msg :

Hello All

 

When I am trying to open WebI report I am getting below message

 

Unexpected error. If you cannot reconnect to the server, close  Web Intelligence and start again. (WIJ 20002)

 

 

 

But this error message is coming only for thouse reports which taking too much time like 2 or more than 2 minutes to fetching records .

Other reports are working fine which taking less time to fetching data.

 

Note : I had already updated my JAVA version and I am using SAP BO 3.1 .

Sending a report via email in excel,pdf extensions

Good morning,

 

I'm getting some problem. I just configured my BO 4.1 to be able to send a report via email using Adaptavie Job Server,

But whenever I send a report it is send in a .wid format and that does not work for me or my users specially (it would be bettter in excel or pdf). I can see no visible option to change the format of the report being sent.

 

Do you know how to configure it?

How to use ToDate() to concatenate month and year cells

Hi,

 

I have a universe giving me the year and month in the 'Number' format. I've attached a snapshot of the data below:

The measure values in the report are aggregated based on these dimensions. I want to concatenate these fields to produce something like:

Jan-15 and so on. I have tried using the ToDate and format function to accomplish this, but I end up getting a #ERROR everytime. Here is the expression:

 

=ToDate("" + [Year] + "-" + [Month] + "-01"; "yyyy-MM-dd")

 

Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

IN WEBI data is duplicated in report after migrating from BO 3.1 to 4.1

HI ,

 

This is regarding Data is duplicated in report after migrating from BO 3.1  to BO 4.1 in 3.1 i am getting  43 rows but after migrating 2383 records .please could any one tell what is the issue .what is procedure to follow .it would be  very helpful.

 

Please find the attachments  SQL of both 3.1 and 4.1
